We have just purchased this extremly rare,low mileage one owner pick up that has only covered 56,000 miles.The Land Rover Defender 90 Pick Up is one of the last of the classic Defenders a vehicle built far more like a traditional workhorse than a modern road-focused pickup. It wears a simple, boxy cab, has a removeable hard top and a practical cargo bed behind it, designed to carry gear, tools or luggage rather than to offer creature comforts. Under the bonnet sits a 2.2-litre four-cylinder turbo diesel with around 120 PS and roughly 360 Nm of torque, paired to a six-speed manual gearbox and permanent four-wheel-drive. The engines low-down torque and the Defenders transfer case give it genuine grunt off-road and when towing up to around 3.5 tonnes. The cab is utilitarian with hard surfaces, simple controls and minimal insulation compared with modern pickups and SUVs, but that simplicity also means its tough, easy to service and built to be used hard. Off-road it feels at home with good ground clearance, solid axles and traction aids that let it clamber over rough terrain with confidence.
